You know the type. They’re great friends and you love having them over, but maybe their tastes are a little…particular. This keto spinach artichoke dip recipe is perfect for your hard to please friends.

Everyone loves spinach and artichoke dip. It’s a friendly, shareable appetizer that always gets rave reviews.
Although you’ll need to do a little prep to get ingredients together, you can pull the final product together while your guests are arriving and still engage in conversation.
Spinach artichoke dip also enjoys a good reputation because of the healthy vegetables in the name. While many non-keto versions are far from good for you, this version features ingredients that are friendlier to your body.
Essential Preparation for this Recipe
Please take note – you will need to make a couple of the inputs for this recipe ahead of when you plan to serve it.
Of particular note is the keto cashew cheese that forms the base of this dip. This special cheese requires the cashews to soak overnight, so plan accordingly.
You may also need to make keto mayo if you don’t have any on hand. Some commercially available keto mayos are out there if you prefer.
Finally, you need to think about your snack of choice for dipping. I like to go the traditional route with these keto tortilla chips.
Unlike the “make ahead” ingredients, tortilla chips are quick and taste best fresh out of the oven. Try to make them the day you’re going to serve the dip if possible.
How This Differs from Non-Keto Spinach Dip
The big (and obvious) difference between this spinach dip and what you may be used to is that this version does not include dairy.
Unfortunately, dairy just doesn’t sit well with many people, so I prefer to provide non-dairy options.
To make up for the cheese that is missing, I substituted the cashew cheese. Cashews are arguably the most delicious nut, and they happen to do a pretty solid cheese impression when soaked and food processed.
Other ingredients, like the spinach, artichokes, onions, lemon juice, salt, and pepper, can stay the same.
A great option to serve at parties.
- 10 oz frozen chopped spinach, defrosted
- 14 oz artichoke hearts (from a can in water), drained and chopped
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) Keto mayo
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) cashew cheese
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 4 cloves of garlic, peeled and minced
- 2 teaspoons (10 ml) lemon juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Drain the spinach and artichoke well. Make sure the spinach, artichoke, and onions are finely chopped.
- In a large bowl, mix everything together well.
- Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
- Serve hot or cold with some Keto Tortilla Chips.
